Luthier Mitja Mithans has been hand-crafting electric guitars for most of the last decade in his shop based in a small village named Zgornja Kungota in Slovenia, right on the border with Austria.
Background
Mithans Guitars offers a range of models that are all made in Europe, but here we are focused on an instrument called T°roots Wenge. The familiar shape goes well beyond with a body top and one-piece neck built out of Wenge, while the body back is built out of American Walnut. All plates are engraved and built out of Mahogany.
Details
Both body and neck are finished with custom oil and special wax. The T°roots semi-hollow construction offers excellent sustain and mitigates some extra weight. The neck features an Ebony fingerboard with rounded edges and stainless-steel frets. Tuning stability is added with Gotoh locking tuners, zero fret with permanently lubricated Graph Tech nut and string trees, and a modern Gotoh bridge.
And then there's a few extra esthetics like brass side-dots with wooden inlays, chrome/gold hardware combinations, and real ebony tuner knobs. And finally, there’s a hard case included.
For those who like to get a little further into the weeds, here’s a few extra specs:
Inlays: Custom shaped Mother of Pearl celluloid
Thickness: 21.7mm (1st fret) – 22.7mm (12th fret)
Neck Radius: 9.5
Neck Shape/Profile: Oval C-shape
Nut Width: 43mm
Bridge Pickup: Hand Wound Haeussel Broad B
Neck Pickup: Hand Wound Mithans DAS PAF '59
